Today's Toby

Mommy went above and beyond this year.  This is also my THIRD Halloween, and I'm just now learning that candy is involved.

That moment when you're reminiscing with a friend and you realize you've been friends for over half your lifetime. Like, woah.

New York now has early voting and we rocked it.

The best part about working from home is the casual dress code. 

Ready to go camping...as long as it's inside, with no bugs, birds, or squirrels.

When Dad's in tech, sometimes we sneak in some extra snuggles. 

7pm in October has a very different atmosphere than 7pm in July.

Where we pick the berries off the bush... And drop them down the grate.

Fall took its time arriving, but it seems to be firmly here. Goodbye to summer and sitting outside in a t-shirt. See you next year!

Like father, like son.

...of a boy... ...who loves Elmo and Abby... ...and just learned that it's bedtime... ...and is not happy about it. 

After about ten minutes of trying to wake Toby up from his nap, I decided to just take a picture.

Someone is big into helping these days. If we can stretch this out for another 18 years, that would be great. 

Fish coffee is an acquired taste, but so worth it!

Stepping into dad's shoes while the bath fills up. Soon enough, little one, soon enough.

And yet so little. Time marches ever onward.

Now that the houses have been built, what shall we do? "Mwah ha ha! This wooden horse is here for some donuts!" Yep. That's how it all went down. (If you look carefully, you can see sheep's butt as he patiently waits on the bench for the bus to come.)

Nothing beats getting a drink from the water fountain at the playground.  Aaah! Hit the spot.

When you're in the middle of collaborating on a master piece... And you notice some paparazzi... "Hey, scram! We're working here." Finally. Some peace and quiet. 

The key is to never let the grown-ups know that you're having fun.  Also, you must visualize the chess game long before you add the pieces. 

When the book is about dragons, we make sure our dragon has a front row seat.

Wearing his messenger bag and buying his Metrocard, just like Daddy.
