On second thought...

Image
This walking in the rain thing is rather fun.

FOOTball!

Getting the hang of kicking the ball.  Also, a touch of foosball. If you're getting this post by email, click on the post title to view the video.

Role Reversal

Image
Trying out the other side of the bath.

I'm not sure those go there....

Image
Sometimes when it's time to get into you jammies your whole  family ends up with your underwear on their head.   Did that happen in anybody else's house too? (the photo quality is poor, but the moment is worth remembering)

Thank goodness for bears...

Image
Look at me and Slumbers! We're so snuggly. Also, we're also ferocious and could bite you. That wasn't funny Mom. I'll wait for you to stop laughing...

Zing

Image
When you see something... So you say something... And you point it out to make sure you've been clear. And you think to yourself "oh boy, are they going to get it!"

Nighttime Train

Image
Maybe it's the lack of being able to ride the actual subway, but our pre-bed  routine now consists of 'riding the train' to the bathroom.   This particular chair has been spinning Paradine's for well over 30 years and it's still a favorite. As always, if you're getting this post by e-mail, click on the blog title to view the video.

Don't Miss A Thing

Image
Using his "lookers", making sure we see everything there is to see in the neighborhood.

Golf Lesson

Image
Begin with the end in mind. Set up the shot. One last look at the hole. Wait for it... Fore!! (Whatever that means.) (Teach all your friends how to play.) If you're getting this post by email, click on the post title to view the video. Special thanks to Great Aunt Lynn for the golf clubs!

Shredded Paper!

Image
Buckets of fun with shredded paper! Almost exactly like getting to play in a sandbox. (Making everything into a toy might be why he's so confused on the rare occasions we tell him that something is not a toy.)

Taking Friends Outside

Image
Sometimes we have to coax Toby to go outside by having him bring friends.   Thomas and Percy were sensible and stayed on the concrete: James and the Circus Train were a little more reckless the next day.   They went right for the dirt and Toby couldn't believe how messy they got.

Happiness is...

Image
... hanging out with a few good friends.

Afternoon delight

Image
Catching some end-of -day sun in the "backyard". (Also known as "the patch of grass behind our building".)

The force is strong

Image
We missed May 4th for this, but these are our imaginary light sabre picture. (These are not the droids you're looking for.)

Old school

Image
Old Man Toby: "In my day, we didn't have any toys. We played with onions and potatoes." * Mom would like it to be noted that she did not intend this to be a playtime activity. Toby thought it was great fun to shuck the onions. Also, he has a million and one toys all over the floor in the other room.

Strolling

Image
Enjoying a walk around the neighborhood. Grateful to be able to go outside if only for small walks.

Real talk

Image
Having two parents home all the time is just a lot. I love 'em, don't get me wrong. But man are they exhausting. Sometimes, I just need a little alone time, you know.

Good Lighting

Image
I realize this is almost an identical shot to a recent post,  but sometimes the lighting is so perfect you have to get the shot anyway.

Recycling

Image
Today's activity brought to you by painter's tape and old toilet paper/paper towel rolls. Waste not, want not.

Well, hello

Image
So happy to see you.

Mom's Salon

Image
Happy Mother's Day to all.  Especially to this mom bravely taking on the roll of family hairdresser.  (Not pictured, the haircut she gave Dad.) We are two lucky guys.

Advanced Reading

Image
Don't get me wrong, Elmo's Farm Friends  is definitely a good book,  but I'm thinking about branching out.   Is this one any good?

Magic Ice Cream

Image
Quick Dad, where's the cone?  I don't know how long I can hold this.

Chiefly management

Image
"Chief, I need your help." Let me see. Interesting.  This right here is your problem - Old MacDonald is not at the farm. All in a day's work.
