Today's Toby

This is the start of summer, huh?  

We are so grateful to be able to interact with other humans again! Thanks for coming to visit First Cousin Once Removed Davis (aka Cousin Davis, for short)!   

Toby is definitively opposed to snuggling. But periodically, bouncing around in Mom & Dad's bed can be a lot of fun.  

Sometimes you can just let your shirt do the talking.  

Mom, Alfred Hitchcock did not make an entire movie about birds because they were "nothing to worry about".

Never let the desire to "get there" distract you from soaking up everything on the journey. (Unless, you see pigeons. If you see pigeons, just run and scream.)  

Jason: Toby, we need to eat these bananas before they get soft. Toby: Dad, I want them to get soft. That's how we get banana bread.  

And in the name of the Lollipop Guild, we'd like to welcome you to Munchkin Land.  

This water fountain is top secret. I'm going to need to see your credentials.

We're getting into counting. This is probably manageable while we're still using our fingers...  

Even though we aren't riding the subway regularly, we still know how to work the metrocard machine.   

When you order the sprinkle toast and you eat it one sprinkle at a time because you know when to savor a good thing when you've got it.  

Not only did we get to see Grandma and Grandpa Paradine, but they also brought bear soap!   

Riding the bus continues to be very exciting.

It's been a long pandemic. We're grateful to finally see Grandma and Grandpa Paradine in person.     

Despite the casual attire, this security guard was very thorough in checking my pretend passport.  Since everything checked out, I asked if I could take a picture with him and he graciously agreed.  

In case you were wondering how tall Toby is these days, he's roughly a mailbox (minus the legs).  

The great thing about a pretend store, is that you can set your own prices and buy whatever you want. (The down side being that whatever you get is pretend.)  

Dad now occasionally goes into Manhattan for work. Toby remembered all the essentials - ID and metrocard.  

Happy Mother's Day to all the mom's out there.  We love all of you! This year has been a year like no other, and today we're celebrating our mommy for all she's done to help Toby continue to thrive throughout. We love you, Cotton.  Thank you for everything!
