Today's Toby

The night before your birthday is very exciting.  

One can never be too safe when cleaning a lint screen.  

It's not every kid who gets a fort with pillow flooring and a million duplos. The view from inside. You'll be inside the fort soon Spencer!

Hello, hello. What's that you say? My hat looks unusual?  Well, I suppose you have a point.   

We don't want to go down the big slide at the playground, but we did have fun playing at the bottom of it (especially, the laying on Mom part - so relaxing!)  

 Toby has discovered he enjoys having cold water run on his feet in the bath. He also wanted to try cold water to wash his hair even though I told him I didn't think it was a great idea.  Sometimes you've got to learn things for yourself.

One day you will roll through your day without needing a nap (though you often opt out of it now in favor of reading your books.) One day it will be all we can do to get you out of bed before noon (rather than coercing you back to bed when you wake up too early). But in this moment, you were quietly slumbering.  

Finally. Thanks to the man in the store for getting me this new cart. Now, where do I find those Spiderman popcicles?  

School doesn't start for a little while longer but we're practicing walking there. (This is as much for Mom and Dad to figure out how long it takes to get out of the apartment, as it is to get Toby used to the idea of having to do something on a set schedule.)  

That's a red joke.

Everybody talks about being "on the ball" like it's hard. Look people, it's pretty straight forward.   

You don't give your smiles to just anyone. But when you give them, they are sunshine.   

Thanks for the awesome new globe Grandma and Grandpa!  We found even more things it can do after you left!  We're working on world capitals now!
