Made for this kiddo

Image
Now this was a fun discovery. They all seemed to be East Coast states so alas, no Kansas.

Firsthand Account

Image
Checking to see which cows were working at the fresh-made ice cream place. (It didn't say.) But the results were excellent.

Rocking Out

Image
Some serious rocking out on the xylophone.

Terrace Time

Image
We're still figuring out how to function in our new space but projects on the terrace while the weather allows might be one of our favorites.

Boing Boing Boing

Image
Fun on the seesaw.

Old Friends

Image
Reading some of our favorite books at the library.

Not Too Bad

Image
It's a hard job, but someone has to break in the new couch.

Nose Surgery

Image
A corner of Slumbers' nose needed a little repairing. He was very brave during the surgery and is going to make a complete recovery.

New Couch

Image
"We have a New Couch, a True Couch, a Blue Couch named Caroline." Bonus points if you can name the musical this little song was parodied from.

Clay Field

Image
According to the internet, this is the playground at Clay Field. Which probably means no one calls it that in real life. But we had a great time.

Toby & Mom

Image
A serious portrait series.

Big Kid Bed

Image
Map sheets! And (not pictured) pillowcases and duvet with the flag of Argentina! Sleeping with everything you love? Priceless.

Other Plans

Image
When you want to be awake, but your body has other plans.

Covid Upside?

Image
On the upside to all of us getting Covid,Toby has started learning to play chess. On the downside, he's had several nosebleeds over the past 24 hours which he does not enjoy. To put it mildly. Thank goodness for Instacart and other delivery services which have allowed us to get what we need while keeping other people safe.

Ready for the New Year

Image
Toby told me this was his New Year's outfit.

Library Card!

Image
Somebody just got their very first library card! Look at that excitement! (Pay no attention to the little brother in the background who may or may not be trying to climb the furniture.) He even checked out his books all by himself.

Just One More Book...

Image
It's hard to say no to "one more book?"

Leaving Forest Hills

Image
Forest Hills will always be a special place for our family. When Cotton and I moved there we were just a couple years into dating. We got married and added two people to our family. We had lots of love, tears, and laughter.  Grateful for the memories and the lovely neighbors. We had a true community there. Also grateful to have had a final moment in the apartment together to say thank you and goodbye. "Saying goodbye Why is it sad? Makes us remember the good times we've had. Much more to say Foolish to try It's time for saying goodbye." - Muppets Take Manhattan

Local Legends

Image
Spending our last days in Forest Hills doing our best Spiderman impression.

Skater Boy

Image
I'm ready for the skatepark.

Shirtless

Image
Due to a surprise water balloon pop, we ended up showing off some muscles at the playground.

Bath Fireworks

Image
Toby said during his bath on the 4th that his bath tablets could be like fireworks. I agreed and proceeded to toss more than our usual number of tablets up into the air with firework sounds.   I left the bathroom for a bit, and when I came back he had gathered tablets to make cups with every color of the rainbow.  He was quite pleased with his celebration.

Quiet Game

Image
When you're trying not to laugh because it's the Quiet Game, but your parents are pretty hilarious.
