Today's Toby

Day One on the trampoline was about figuring it out: It's hard to get good trampoline photos at dusk. Second day on the trampoline we got more adventurous. Jacob was able to join in and make it more fun. This is why big cousins are great:  

This activity tub never fails to work its magic. Some activities work better than others. But it never fails to get us through the doldrums. Today's activity was washing the ping pong balls.  

Dear Toby, I know having a little brother is hard right now. He doesn't understand how to follow rules and always wants to be doing whatever you're doing. But every now and again, I walk in to find you playing with him or reading to him and it makes me happy for both of you. Thanks for being such an awesome big brother. Love you!

Playing Apples to Apples was a huge success (and very serious business). Plus there were snacks.

When you teach your brother about the joys of bedtime ice cream.  

When you're trying not to smile, but you're mom's being kind of silly back there behind you.  

One of the perks of being the Star Student for the week is getting to be the line leader. (And wear a crown - but that stays in the classroom.)  

Some casual stretching.  

Less than a week ago we were reading library books on the terrace in shorts and a t-shirt. Today we turned on the heat in the apartment.   

Toby's beginning to have more and more fun engaging with Spencer.  This is some photos of the occasional bedtime double patty-cake game. Spencer is delighted to get this much attention from his big bro.  

It's bold to wear a shirt that says "don't feed the bears" when your best bud is a bear. Fortunately, since Slumbers has been raised among humans, he thinks of himself as a kiddo (who just really loves salmon and honey sandwiches.)  

When Mom is at tap class, Spencer gets a bedtime story from Toby. Suffice to say, Spencer appreciates it. And Toby might not mind it either.
