More of the museum. In the section about the US Presidents there's a spot for kids to get behind a podium and read part of famous presidential speeches. Toby chose JFK's inaugural.
Toby was disappointed that he couldn't take a picture of the flag thar inspired Thr Star Spangled Banner. But he did think it was fun to see his face in some money.
Toby had a great time finding all the states and territories at the WWII Memorial. Naturally, he wanted a picture with Kansas. And then we managed to get a full family picture in front of New Jersey.
Last week was Toby's spring break. So we did a quick trip to DC and Philly. Toby was very excited about seeing the sites. He took a bunch of pictures which he can't wait to have printed. These were some shots of him at the Washington Monument.
In a slight twist of the lyrics from Wicked, we did "one short play in the Emerald City" at the Wizard of Oz playground. This is Toby doing his best impression of a grumpy, Emerald City guard.
Toby had the big responsibility of helping Dad blowout his birthday candles. (Spencer paid close attention since his birthday is next.) Happy Birthday Jason! We love you tremendously. Thank you for your humor, heart, and sense of adventure.
Toby was less interested in taking pictures with blossoms, instead opting for concrete pillars. Eventually, I got him to admit that the flowers were pretty too.
What can we say? Some folks are just good Lucca'n. (Get it? Good lookin'? Good Lucca'n? Things are bound to get a little punny when you've done this many blogposts.)
