Today's Toby

Toby and Dad have been reading The Princess Bride. As such, playing sword fighting (and disarming his opponent) has been an exciting idea. Unfortunately, Spencer did not quite understand the rules of the game.  

We got wet and it was a bit cold, but in the end it was worth it. The Broncos got the win! Thanks Grandma and Grandpa Paradine. Here's Toby pre-game with the flag he made. Toby flashing a V for Victory whole the team was in victory formation.  

Toby also wanted in on the giant glowstick. Even without ever seeing any of the Star Wars movies, Luke Skywalker's reputation with a lightsaber is thriving.  

Trust no one. Even on pajama day.

Toby bought a book at the book fair that came with "real buried treasure" and he had a great time digging it out.  

Apparently, tonight was yoga night in our kitchen. The moves were pretty advanced.

This was Toby's Ukrainian flag outfit. (There are beige shorts under the blue shorts to complete the look.)  

A little cloudy and a little cooler makes drawing on the asphalt more appealing.  

We have Toby's Back-To-School night this week. In preparation for that, Toby (and his classmates) have created a scavenger hunt for all the parents. Suffice to say, Toby is enjoying holding the upperhand that comes with knowing all the answers.  

Healthy skepticism.  

Lots of fun was had with today's Crunch Labs project: a compression vacuum! This clip was releasing the pressure from some shaving cream (after inflating it). The inflating part is probably more exciting, but it didn’t quite translate in the video we took. Thanks again, Grandma and Grandpa Paradine!

There are those among us who that life is simply not challenging enough.  

For some reason ripping up the weekly flyers brings Toby great joy. You love what you love.  

While I hate the mess of chalk, it is something that never fails to entertain on the playground.  

Bring it on Second Grade. He's ready.  

Toby saw some Frozen Sour Grapes at the store and insisted he would like them.  Here was the reaction video:

The lure of throwing rocks into the drain is irresistible.  

When the weather starts to feel more like fall...  

Back on the court after a summer of mostly playing in the livingroom.   

Today was this kiddo's first day of his last year as a Central School cheetah.  Here's to a great year in second grade, Toby.   

Toby wanted to be the one to push Spencer on the swing, and Spencer couldn't have been more thrilled
