Today's Toby

With Spencer now in school, mom was able to volunteer for Toby's Halloween party. This was the skull he decorated. Then he got ready for his Halloween parade at a classmate's house. Toby's class during the parade. And a few pictures from after the parade.

What is a pile of leaves for but this?

Captivating the crowd with tales of death-defying bravey. (Slumbers was so scared, he fainted.)  

This afternoon Toby started painting his final pumpkin for Central School's Pumpkin Walk. As per usual, he had a very specific vision for his pumpkin. Stay tuned for the final result!  

Serious? Or just some seriously wild hair? Maybe a little of both.

Suffice to say, we have the best bedtime routine around, complete with a vaudeville-style shadow puppet show. (What the performers lack in technical skill, they make up for in enthusiasm.)  

Toby got a geode as a favor from a birthday day he attended. He was all excited to crack it open (it's inside the sock to help contain the pieces), but, unfortunately, this one was a bit of a bust.  

Toby took his assignment to draw a haunted house very seriously.   

Pretty sure that a beater from cookie dough brings out the best of everyone.  

Mom and Dad bought a basketball hoop for the driveway from someone in the neighborhood a few weeks ago. But getting it home and put up has been a much bigger challenge than we were anticipating. Finally after a lot of waiting, Toby was able to take his first shots. (He would have played more, but there were some curious bees and wanted to stay far away from them.)

I'm not quite sure how this got started, but Flag of the Day is now a part of our bedtime routine. Spencer gets to pick any flag on Toby's poster, and Toby tells him what it is and where it's hanging up on the wall.  

Toby has decided that his footie pajamas are so comfy, that he changes into them as soon as he gets home from school. I would say, "we've created a monster" but his point is hard to argue.

Pretty good day off of school.

Toby was jealous of Spencer's footie pajamas and was disappointed he didn't any that fit him anymore.   Mom hooked him up. And, of course, when in Bears...

Since Spencer needed extra cuddles today, Toby got some to.  

Someday Toby will tell stories about how he and Spencer got to practice their batting in the living room and his friends will be shocked that his parents were so cool. But until then, it's just a regular Wednesday evening.  

Snacks are not to be messed with.  

Toby was thrilled to be at Home Depot, I promise. Just not thrilled about getting his picture taken.  

This weekend was Fall Fest for Toby's school. Mom took the opportunity to grab a quick selfie with him before he changed his mind.  

Dad and Spencer dragged the wheels up from the basement and Toby couldn't resist hopping back in the driver's seat. (For a throwback of him cruising around, you can checkout this post.)

As the days get colder and darker, getting out of bed becomes less appealing. Same kid, same.
