Today's Toby

  The glee...of having just tooted. In your brother's room. (For the record, they are both "equal opportunity" tooters.)

Getting caught up on the day's drama.  

Toby dyed his hands with his bath bomb. He was very happy with the results.  

Toby's previous sneakers were an homage to the flag of Ghana (because Mom ordered plain red shoes without consulting Toby and she didn't want to send them back). So Toby wanted his new shoes to be just as awesome...  

Even Toby was getting in on the Iron Man mania.  

Toby made "slideshows" for each of us at school. He wanted me to record Spencer's reaction to his slide because he was pretty sure Spencer would love it.  

The delight that these two get from reading books with each other at the library is really quite sweet.  

Apparently, the magic words to get Toby to smile are "can I take a picture to show Cousin Jacki that you're wearing the hat she made you?"  

Since Bloomfield College is right in our backyard, we decided to take in a Bears basketball game. The Bears won (by about 80 points).  

Legos continue to be a big hit   

New Year's streamers. Here's to 2026!  

Ready for New Year's Eve.  

Toby is always an eager reader, but when left to his own devices he tends to pick books that are pretty easy for him to finish in an afternoon. These books from Santa are the longest he's read on his own (400 pages, no pictures). It's nice to see him get pulled in to something longer.  

The kids got a whole bin of Legos for Christmas. Suffice to say, it may never be safe to walk barefoot in our home ever again. (But they are enjoying them immensely.)  

Pondering...  

Celebrating. Aunt Bahiya, Cousin Harry, Cousin Jacob, New Year's. Why pass up an opportunity for cupcakes or candles?  

When you even impress yourself with what you created out of Hypertiles.  

2 years ago we missed celebrating Christmas with the cousins due illness, so it was extra exciting that everyone was able to be there this year.

When you're trying on your recital costume and Mom says "strike a pose".  

So lucky to celebrate Cotton today amd everyday. But especially today.  Happy Birthday, Cotton. We are so lucky to have you.  We love you tremendously.   

One of these people is complaining about the injustice of not having enough time to read. The other is chuckling on the inside...  

Toby usually does his homework at the library after school, but occasionally he does it at home.  

We played a game with the hulahoops tonight. Toby felt certain that Team Kiddo won, so he wanted a victory photo.  

Last week was Parent Observation week at tap class. Here's Toby doing some Maxie Fords. Here he's working on a paradiddle combination. Here he's working on his pullbacks (which don't look like much but are actually really hard.) And this...was his "Elf Dance". Which he thought was hilarious.  

These kiddos were up for a snowball fight today.
