Today's Toby

He used to avoid the playground water features.  Not anymore.  

It looks like he's really happy to see me, but he is actually just enjoying being a goofball.  

Books for everyone!  

Grandpa Wright supervised some cardboard cutting. He requested a Milwaukee Brewers logo and Toby was happy to comply  

Unfortunately, this attempt at not touching the floor crashed out.  

During the school year, we at the library more often. But during the summer, we can afford to spend enough time to build a whole airport.   

Toby built a creature he named "humanasaur". Apparently, the creature is a little fiesty.

The kids went to art camp together this summer. This was Toby and some of his artwork from the first week.  

Chicago guys.  

Toby inherited the crown during our visit to the Chicago Children's Museum from another child who was called away. It was a big responsibility, but with the help of Spencer (and a few other kids), he managed to keep all the rogues in line.  

Toby wasn't happy that the one time I filmed wasn't his best run on the obstacle course.

  Having fun fighting fires and making art at yhr Children's Museum. Each different room in this place was their favorite and took coaxing to leave.  Thanks for the recommendation, Katie!

Taking some time to cool out feet in the Crown Fountain in Milleneal Park. Look out!  

Toby wanted to take a selfie of himself with the Bean, but was having trouble framing it in his camera. So I gave him mine.   I think he got some pretty good shots.  It's probably a result of not being involved in the photo, but he feels very independent and grown-up in this photo.  

Good news! Toby has signed with the Cubs. Unfortunately his feet might have grown too much to run the bases.

Back of the plane can't damper our spirits!  

Spencer has wanted to paint a wall in his room since we moved in. This summer we finally made it happen. I didn't get a photo of Spencer painting but I did get this picture of Toby helping with the higher areas.  

I think they spent 30 minutes gathering seedpods and extracting the seeds. This has been a consistent slam-dunk activity for the past 4 years running.
