Today's Toby

Wherever there's a chess board, Toby is eager to play. (Spencer is pretending to just be interested in the snacks, but I'm pretty sure he's taking it all in.)  

A couple weeks before our trip, Toby said he wanted to do a Christmas performance while we were in Arizona. He'd go into his room and practice just about every day. A curtain was hung and tickets were made. Toby showed everyone to their seats then sang 'The Twelve Days of Christmas'. Fortunately, the theater allowed photography.    

Fun trip to the Odysea Aquarium with Grandma and Grandpa Paradine! We missed Mommy and Spencer, but we picked out a good fish book for Spencer in the gift shop.  

It's hard to see in this picture, but those dark dots in the sky are hot air balloons.  

Thanks to Grandma and Grandpa's neighbor Dan for letting us come play in this cool sandbox. It took some practice, but Toby really got the hang of it.  

"You see, Spencer, you don't want them to know when you're bluffing. You gotta learn how to keep a straight face."  

Merry Christmas to everyone. Lucky to be with family on Christmas and missing the family that's far away.  

Working of his Which Way USA books as we fly across the USA. Although, Montana (which was the book he was working on), was one of the few states we didn't fly over.  

The Kindergarten class got to have an in-school snowday. They wore their pj's, watched a movie with popcorn, and got to have a pretend snowball fight.

Today was the Winter Concert for Central School, held in the auditorium of 3rd-6th grade school across the street. As parents walked in Pre-K kiddos were playing music. I tried to get Toby to pose, but he wakes to listen to them playing. Here are the Kindergarten's on-stage singing.  Unfortunately this video cropped poorly when I tried to zoom in while editing. Fortunately, you can still see Toby unsure what to do with his candy cane prop when the candy cane song was over. Thanks for putting together a fun concert, Mr. Pavliv!

We have a new dentist for Toby called Itsy Bitsy Dental, and if they took grown-ups Mom and Dad would go there in a heartbeat. Here he is watching the TV above the dentist chair. This is Ruby. She's featured on the "what to expect during your first visit". His name on the door. Getting to look at his own x-rays. The picture they took of him so that he could remember his first visit to the office.  

Making the most of our celebration with Mommy on her birthday. Hats are required around here on birthdays. 🎶 Happy Birthday to you! 🎶   

Quite the day here as we rooted for and them celebrated one of Toby's adopted countries in the World Cup Final. Spencer was excited about the flag waving, so he grabbed what he could and joined in. And the final bracket...

Spencer, the key to getting Mom and Dad to let you do what you want to do is... Oh hey, Mom and Dad.  

He's tired of being sick, but he's still thinking hard about the state of affairs.  

Last week, it was pink eye. This week, it's some other virus. Suffice to say that things have been uphill.

Apparently, this is the face you make when you're learning how to suck on a cough drop.

Good show, good blanket, good life.  

We had to get up out of bed to take some cough medicine. But it helps that Dad is hilarious.
