Today's Toby

Not a bad way to kick off being 7. There were pancakes. There were presents. There was mini golf. There was McDonald's. And there were cupcakes. Thanks for making us parents, kiddo. We love you tremendously. Here's to another turn around the sun.  

Forgot to publish this one yesterday... A few more days of summer break and being 6.  

Old books are better with new friends. (Technically, Jessica is an old friend of Mom's, but a new friend to Toby and Spencer.)  

Toby had a few more mini musicals in him.  

We usually just look at the books at the library, but today Toby got to explore the computer.  

I know you're not supposed to talk about a no-hitter in progress, but sometimes you need blog content. We've made it to the last week of this year's Big June Tournament (128-team bracket that goes from Flag Day to Toby's Birthday), and Uzbekistan is still going strong.  It will be am exciting week.  

Toby finished 3 different summer reading programs this summer - one for the library, one general one for his school, and one for his new teacher. This was the last item he needed to do - reading under a tree.  

Toby had a few friends over last weekend to celebrate his birthday. It was Olympic themed and they had a great time. Mom was hoping to take more pictures, but Spencer was a little nervous about all the hubbub (watch to the end of the Opening Ceremony). Toby rocked it for Green The Opening Ceremony was delightful (at least for the participants). The events included Javelin, Balance Beam, Volleyball, Curling, and Slalom.  

This might be the first time they've been big enough to be seesaw buddies.  

I can't remember how many times we did this activity (which Toby named Penguin Pete) during the pandemic - it felt like a million. But apparently it holds a special place in his heart because he was still thrilled to do it today.   

Move over Abbott and Costello, Toby and Slumbers are working on their shenanigans.   

When Dad's away, we break out the glowsticks. Tonight Toby wanted to make glowstick glasses. Which Spencer thought was a fantastic idea.  

If you can't beat them, join them.  

There was a double rainbow when we were in Massachusetts. And these little croc-wearing leprechauns might be the cutest thing I've ever seen.
