We had a quick visit from Grandma and Grandpa Wright this weekend. The first order of business was getting them up to speed with the new video game toy.  

A neighbor gifted us this handheld video game toy. It's simple enough for Spencer to play on his own, but he also enjoys living vicariously through Toby.  

I'm sure throwing your socks at someone means "I love you" somewhere...

A big post-show smile. One more performance tomorrow and then The Little Mermaid is a wrap. This one is a bit blurry, but too cute not to share.  

There was a "paint by sticker" activity at the library. It's a huge pixelated picture where every pixel is assigned a letter. And then every letter has a corresponding color. So, assuming everyone puts the stickers on the correct letter it will create (in this case) a giant tiger image.  

We mixed up some ooblek (which is a non-newtonian fluid that becomes solid under pressure but reverts back to being liquid when the pressure is removed).

No birthday celebration would be complete without candles. Toby opted for donuts over cupcakes. Fortunately, the experience of blowing out the candles is pretty much interchangeable.  

Toby wanted to be sure his friend Hudson could be at his birthday party this year. He's out of town every August visiting family, so we decided to do it very early. We went out to see the Somerset Patriots beat the New Hampshire Fisher Cats 5-1. It was a special day.  

Happy to celebrate free slurpee day!  

The camp show is up on the local billboard! Things are getting real.

Toby and Nile. Last year Toby was able to go to the Whalemobile (courtesy of our local library). He was thrilled when it was on the calendar again this year. This Nile is an inflatable lifesize replica of the humpback of the same name (complete with tail markings that match her real life namesake).  

Dad was demonstrating how levers work. Toby felt it was the perfect place to read his book.  

When your mom helps with the costumes for your show, it sometimes means you have to try things on.  

And another throwback to a flight from Pilot Harry back in June.  The flight was a bit bumpy, but the pilot was hilarious!  

Spencer joined Toby mid-build and was happy to take a creative backseat and admire Toby's work and hand off the next tile.  

The bedtime switcharoo - as it's been dubbed - means sometimes Mom and Toby get nights to read together too.
